Dorothy Mae McCoy

Dorothy Mae McCoy passed away in the Pinawa Hospital on Monday, June 27, 2011 at the age of 91.

Dorothy was born and raised in Winnipeg by her late parents Emma and George Elliott. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Norman McCoy in 1985 and sister of the late George Elliott (Willoween) and the late Phyllis Sellick (Ken). She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Lynn (Andy Usackis), Deep River, ON, and sons Tim and Shane (Lydia) both of Lac du Bonnet. Much loved grandmother of Dave Usackis, Toronto, Dawn Williams (Joel), Courtice, ON, Gay Mathis (Shane), New Zealand, Michael McCoy (Melanie), Winnipeg, Andrew McCoy, Lac du Bonnet, Sheena McCoy (Chad), Lorette, Kerri Kitzmann (Michael), Beausejour and six great grandchildren.
She lived most of her life in Lac du Bonnet and enjoyed eight wonderful years in The Pas, MB. “Gramma Dorothy” will be sadly missed by her family, friends, wonderful neighbors and her lunch bunch.

The family gratefully acknowledges the loving care provided by her many caregivers – including doctors and nursing staff at the Pinawa Hospital, home care, ambulance attendants and personal care home staff.

The will be no visitation. A private family service will be held in her memory, date to be determined.

If desired, memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or the Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home.

    Sorry for your loss. I never met Dorothy but did know uncle George, he was a beautiful person.

    I am wondering though the fate of Willoween Elliott as I am her namesake and have always called them aunt and uncle. Over the years I have lost touch with Aunt Wille and would very much like to know of her fate.

    I thank you for your help and look forward to hearing from you.
