We are thinking of all of you at this time. We know his presence will be greatly missed in your family. As an educator he was one of the finest and didn’t demand respect but most often was given it. He will be missed by so many.

I had Mr. Luy as an English teacher in high school & loved him. Behind his rough & gruff exterior was a funny, kind man who was so good at teaching Shakepseare. I will always remember how he addressed his students not by their first name but as Mr. or Ms. followed by your sir name. Always thought that was neat. He will be missed by so many.

The sun has set for another of Beausejour’s finest men, a man I looked up to in school, who I held in great respect then and still to this day, who was a fabulous teacher. He was a part of who I became, made me want to work hard in school. He had a great smile, had many stories and jokes to tell, always called me Miss Hamende in school, was always very active, hunting, fishing, riding his bike…I will miss seeing him so much at the shop, when he came to visit the boys, to make sure they were working, or to talk about the latest car show on the past weekend. I will seeing him drive around town in his Mustangs, and on his bike….he was the best, rest in peace Mr Luy…you will be missed…Bob and Jack from First Street Auto will miss his visits and camaraderie… Bob and Cheryl Shaw

His inspiration for students to do their best, inspired me in my career. He was a dramatic teacher with the flare to act out Shakespearian parts, standing on the chair for ‘to be,or not to be”. When I returned in 2000 his love for hunting and fishing was a true passion with him and I enjoyed the many wonderful conservations we had whenever we met.God bless and rest in peace Don, for you were indeed a noble teacher.
