1942 – 2021

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Dolores on February 23 at the age of 79 at Seven Oaks hospital. 

Dolores was born in Winnipeg and raised in Greenwald, Manitoba.  She was predeceased by her parents Peter and Gertrude Kozera and in-laws Metro and Pauline Hnatyshyn of Canora, Saskatchewan.

Dolores is survived by her loving husband of 60 years Orest, her son Brian (Lisa), grandson Ryan (Lindsay), granddaughter Tanya (Chris), great grandchildren Connolly and Blake, brother Herb and family.  

After Dolores finished school, she moved to Winnipeg and was employed at Stall Sportswear.  In 1961 she married her husband Orest. In 1966 Dolores became a mother to their son Brian and he became her life.  Dolores then decided to be a stay-at-home mom and look after her family. 

In 1992 Dolores was blessed with a grandson Ryan and then in 1994 granddaughter Tanya.  She was also a very proud Baba of her great grandchildren Connolly and Blake.  Baba was looking forward to meeting Ryan’s daughter, her 2nd great granddaughter expected this May.

Dolores enjoyed life in general, she loved her flowers and was very proud of her garden and enjoyed looking after her yard.  She was an excellent cook.  If you asked for a recipe it was always a little of this and a little of that.  She enjoyed making perogies with the food crew at the church and looked forward to the Church Bazaar.

Special Thanks to the Doctors, Nurses and Health Care workers along with the Dialysis Unit at Seven Oaks Hospital.

Due to Covid restrictions there will be a private funeral service.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral, 1175 Main St, Wpg, MB R2W 3S4 or the Manitoba Kidney Foundation Unit 1, 452 Dovercourt Dr. Wpg, MB R3Y 1G4
