It is with great sadness and tender hearts we share the news of the passing of our mother Diana Sweet, whom lost her short battle with cancer Monday, July 20, 2015 at St. Boniface Hospital.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Lawrence, mother Pearl Rockman, brother Rod Purcell, and sister Karen Prusky. She leaves to mourn her memory: children Wendy Dupré (Wayne), Doug Sweet (Mekiela); six adored grandchildren Darrin Dupré, Kristin Dupré, Jade Sweet, Mercedes (Sadie) Sweet, Owen Sweet, Laine Sweet and one great-grandchild Lucas Dupré, and special friend Ken. Also her sisters Sandy Higgs (Jim), and Patty Parsons (Glen), brothers David Purcell (Gail), Duane Purcell (Char) and Emile Prusky, as well as brothers and sisters in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, family and friends.
Diana was born in Regina, SK January 20, 1949 and lived in Kamsack, SK as a young child. Her family moved to Transcona when she was in her mid-teens and there she met the love of her life Lawrence.
Diana worked hard as a waitress, assembly worker and finally as a stocker for Canadian Tire. Mom moved back to the family farm three years ago. Lawrence’s rose bushes died with him 12 years ago but the day Diana moved back to the farm the roses started to bloom again.
A memorial service will be held at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Avenue East, Beausejour, MB on Saturday, July 25 at 11:00 a.m.
She will be sadly missed by all who loved her.

Please accept my deepest sympathy. The loss of a family member is perhaps the hardest time in persons life. We can take comfort in the knowledge that our Creator knows our pain. 1 Peter 5:7 “throw all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you.”
