January 21, 1961 – September 25, 2022
Surrounded by love, near and far, Dean set out on his journey to the Next Place on Sunday, September 25, 2022.
Keeping him close in their hearts are his “bride” Heather, son Tanner (Kaitlyn), son Reed (Jodi), grandkids Ava and Jack, mom Tanis, sisters Kim and Lee and their families, and the Feilberg families. Dean was predeceased by his dad, Donnie, as well as much loved family members and friends.
Born in Pine Falls, MB, Dean later moved to Whitemouth for the remainder of his school years. Always competitive, Dean participated in track and field, baseball, curling, and fishing – achieving success at all levels. Dean developed a passion for fishing after spending much time on the water with his Grandpa and Dad.
Most of Dean’s work life was with Sunterra Horticulture as plant manager and then as vice president of operations. Dean developed strong friendships with his work family as he helped to build the company from the ground up, both in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Dean had numerous loves, some of which were: *“Going to Gun” to spend time with family and friends, especially August Long Reunions, *trips to Naples to golf with his Bear’s Paw gang, *walks with Lewis, *Pepsi and sweets. Above all else, Dean loved his family.
We would like to offer our gratitude to the medical professionals at CancerCare MB and the medical staff at Bethesda Regional Health Centre.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday. October 2 at 2:00 p.m. at the Whitemouth Recreation Centre, Whitemouth, MB.
For those who wish to do so, please consider making a donation to: Bethesda Regional Health Centre

Dean was a good man. When times were tough he did the the little things that didn’t go without notice, like checking in with a phone call to make sure everything was ok. That’s what good friends do. I will miss my hunting buddy this fall but will always have great memories and even better stories. Condolences to Heather, Tanner & Reed.

I’m so sad to hear of Dean’s passing. He was my neighbour and classmate in Pine Falls, and one of those people that I just clicked with as a friend. We recently reconnected, and it seems like just yesterday when we were talking about the sustainability of peat. My condolences to the whole McDonald family.
