David’s family would like to thank the amazing ICU team at HSC who fought so hard to help David overcome his catastrophic injuries; as well as the Comfort Care team on GD3, especially caring nurses Harvey and Danielle; the Manitoba STARS ambulance attendants who fought mercifully at the site to help David and air-vacked him to Winnipeg; the Beausejour RCMP for their continuing investigation into the incident;  the many people who have prayed, sent love and support for our family during these very difficult past weeks.  We are all truly better people to have loved and been loved by David.

“How much can we ever know about the love and pain in another heart? How much can we hope to understand those who have suffered deeper anguish, greater deprivation, and more crushing disappointments than we ourselves have known?”
    ― Orhan Pamuk, Snow
My heart is with you during this difficult time. I can’t imagine the pain and hurt you must be experiencing. David was a beautiful soul with a smile that lit up a room.

Jesus wept. The shortest verse in the Bible says so little and says so much. When His friends were sorrowing, He wept. Andrea, as you have travelled this long, weary, hard road, we have wept, fumed, questioned alongside you. We will continue to hold you and your family up in our thoughts and prayers. May God grant you, your family and David’s friends strength, courage, comfort and grace.

I was part of the team that hired Dave at MRCC and can say we were all truly blessed to have known him and worked with him. He will be greatly missed. His years with co-workers and friends mattered in ways that cannot be fully articulated. He made us laugh and gave us his precious wisdom. He gave his time to helping and never harming and his deepest desire was always to do the right thing. We admired him for his honest down home ways, never playing a fool unless he knew you’d get the joke. He was a joy that way. Always ready to offer kindness and support to his fellow workers, I stand with them now in bewildered sorrow wishing for a gentle soft place for healing and for you his beloved family, a profound peace at this time. For the sacredness of this life, and David’s precious appearance in ours, we remain deeply grateful. Cary Hamilton

I’m so glad now that since my 2007 retirement I was given continuing opportunities to hug David and remind him that he was my favorite Milner co-worker, which always got me one of his mile-wide smiles and that endearing blush. Always a gentleman, always ready to lend a hand, David – you will stay in my heart.

I worked close with David when I was employeed at Milner Ridge. David, myself and another coworker were roomates for a while. We worked together on the Bush Crew and shared many laughs and even some serious moments. I will always remember his home town type jokes and pranks. David was a good man and I will miss him. My sincere condolences to David’s family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you Nadine and your whole family.
“As long as you remember me, my memory will live on. My spirit will be there with you at every breaking dawn. I’ll sing to you through birds in spring and whisper through the trees. I’ll bring you gentle comfort with a warm, caressing breeze. As long as you remember me, my love will fill your heart and help you ease sorrow that you feel while we’re apart. With thoughts of me, perhaps you’ll see the wonder of each day, the joys of sunlit afternoons, and nature’s grand display. As long as you remember me, I always will be near, to lend you sweet tranquility as nighttime stars appear. The bond that we have shared will be a link from me to you to give you hope for brighter days and strength to see you through”
May the loving memories you share with David bring you comfort and peace.
    All our love,
Becca, Frank, Korbin, Alyssa and Matthew
