May 9, 1946 ~ September 6, 2021
It is with extreme sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Dave Anderson of Lac du Bonnet, after a very short illness. He was 75 years young.
Dave is survived by his grade school sweetheart (of 56 years) Alice Mae King; sisters Ingrid Hiebert, Tova (Ted) Anderson and brother Don (June) Elliot. Dave is also survived by his son Mike (Sharon) Lanteigne; Linda (Mikes’ mother); grandchildren Milley and Camryn; friends, neighbours and co-workers. He loved us all and we loved him. We will miss him so much; his wit, humour, sarcasm advice, one-liners, advice and expertise.
Dave was born May 9, 1946 to Lambert and Madeline Anderson, in Fannystelle. In 1956 being a foster child, moving to Arden. It was there he met Alice Mae. The rest is history and they lived happily ever after until his untimely death.
Dave worked so many jobs in his life, it is hard to remember them all; a farm hand in Brookdale, a miner in Snow Lake, Tuktoyaktuk, ambulance driver in The Pas, cook at Limestone and Broadlands, Merchant Navy in Vietnam, and others. He was a loyal employee for 27+ years with Jay-Em Hauling and recently with AML. He loved all his various careers. He did them all. He especially loved driving the northern winter roads. His favourite T.V. shows, Ice Road Truckers and Storage Wars.
Dave was a very enthusiastic fisherman and loved fishing with his mother-in-law Joyce. They loved the challenge of cat-fishing and the fun of ice-fishing.
Dave was a fighter throughout his life. He had a strong will to live and love. He did not let all the troubles of the world get the better of him. His attitude, although very stubborn, was always positive. He was kind, honest, caring, generous and happy-go-lucky. He lived a full life doing the things he loved; fishing, afternoon coffee meetings at Drifters, stopping in at Riverdale for Georgette’s garlic soup, chatting, telling stories. Wherever he went and whatever he did he made amazing friends along the way. Dave had an infectious way of making lifetime friends (Calvin, Vicky, Billy and Doreen) and his spirit will live on in all of us.
Special thanks to Dr. Sayfee, St. Boniface Hospital and especially nurse Colleen.

To Alice King, and the family, and friends of David Anderson. Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of David. Although I did not know him personally, Alice was excited to tell me about him, and I was happy for them both. Alice and I were good friends since I met her in 1978. When she told me of her loss, I felt I also lost a friend. May Dave R.I.P.

Gone But Not Forgotten
Don’t think of him as gone away
His journey’s just begun.
Life holds so many facets
This earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting
From the sorrows and the tears
In a place of warmth and comfort
Where there are no days and years.
Think how he must be wishing
That we could know today
How nothing but our sadness
Can really pass away
And think of him as living
In the hearts of those he touched
For nothing love is ever lost
And he was loved so much.
He Is Gone
You can shed tears that He is gone or you can smile because He has lived
You can close your eyes and pray that He will come back or you can open your eyes and see all that He has left
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see Him or you can be full of the love that you shared
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday
You can remember Him and only that He is gone or you can cherish His Memory and let it live on
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what he would want
Smile, open your eyes, love and go on
RIP Dave
Your friendship will be missed
Your memories will remain in my heart
I will miss you my friend

Just adding a few words that were left out of my earlier message , Dave used to like is garlic soup but now he will be making it , he used to call and see what was the soup of the day , you could be sure he would stop if it was GARLIC SOUP.
Alice , thinking of you in these hard times and take care of yourself
Ann
Alice, thank you for sharing your ‘s and Dave’s story with me today. I am so very sorry for your loss.
Dave “Trouble” as I used to call him when he would come into CoOp, was always teasing and joking around. I will miss seeing him very much. He brightened my day many times. I am praying that God will comfort you with peace as you walk through this difficult time.

Our condolences to you and family Alice, I remember working many a jobs with Dave and he always had his unique smile and great sense of humour. Dear Alice and family, my condolences on your loss. I will always remember Dave’s beautiful playful smile and how happy he seemed to be when moving snow around on the quad. I think he was even moving snow in the ditches because he didn’t want to be done. Hugs and love to you Alice. I will either attend the service on line or in person. Rest In Peace Dave.

My condolence to the family.
Dave always wanted to stop and chat when delivering gravel to White Spruce on the Lake. Even though I had lots going on, his first job was to ask how I was, and then to find out where the gravel was going. He always had a story for me.
Everett Obirek
Dear Alice, and family, and friends, my sincere condolences for your great loss. Dave was a regular face at White Spruce on the Lake over the past 7 years… he drove many many loads of gravel into the resort during all the years of construction, and I will never forget the huge smile he always had on his face every single time we met. I hope the memory of that wonderful smile will provide you all just a little bit of comfort in this very sad and difficult time. God bless. Rest In Peace Dave.

It was a beautiful service. Was wonderful getting to meet Dave and know him for the short amount of time I did working alongside him at AML. Going to miss you super Dave, keep on truckin up there buddy. Condolences to the family, I’m very sorry for your loss <3

Dear Alice
I am praying that you will find God’s peace that passes all understanding during this difficult time.
After reading this it sounds like Dave was a wonderful person and that you had a lovely man at your side.
I am sure that you will miss him dreadfully. Keep reaching out; for you need friends and family at this time. Maybe we will see each other at Abundant Life Chapel or somewhere else?
Thank you for reaching out to us; your old neighbours in Great Falls.

Mary Ann Grewinski
Alice, it is with a heavy heart that I write this condolence.
Dave was such a loyal employee, Jerry could count on him to get the gravel loads delivered. He was part of our buisness and a friend. We always enjoyed his quick witted sayings and stories. He will be missed but I know Jerry was there to greet him and carry on the conversations about trucking and what has been going on. Maybe they are trucking again. I’m happy about that.
This is a difficult time for you and will take time. You will always have good memories to help you.
The service for Dave was very special to me also. Thank You.
Take care of yourself Alice.
Alice King
Thank you Mary Ann! A special bond, for sure, not just employer, employee. Thank you for you and all your family for everything, absolutely everything!! I am sure Jerry’s first words to Dave were, as they were here on earth..”What kept you?”
Farrah Buhay
I am sorry I could not make the funeral.
I grew up with Dave around – Dave worked for my Dad, Jerry, for over 27 years.
Dave watched my sister, Wynter, and I grow up. But we grew up watching him & his kind soul. We saw him sharing his lunch with our St. Bernards. We saw him waving to us and checking to make sure we got on the bus in the mornings. We saw him listening patiently to my Dad’s instructions. We saw how dedicated he was to my Dad and everything about trucking in general.
He was dependable and would help my Dad with whatever he could. Dave could always be counted on to stay late, to deliver a last-minute load of gravel, to drop whatever he was doing and go. Very rare to find that caliber of loyalty today. I am certain he has met up with my Dad by now and they are having a coffee & a chat in some Heavenly Drifters coffee shop! You will be missed, Dave. Keep on Truckin’.
Alice King
Thank you Farrah, thank you so much. Such touching words. Yes, the bond was, and is, very strong! Your Dad and Dave covered a lot of miles and hauled gazillions of loads of gravel and “material” and drank many a Drifter’s coffee; Not only did they have a bond through work, they were the truest of friends. Thanks to all of your Grewinski family for your love, care, and concern. God bless all of you. With much love from myself and Dave . xoxo

The Trucker’s Last Ride
He traveled the roads
In years gone past
A life he chose and
Hoped it would last.
Driving all night
From place to place
Trying to get home
And arriving so late.
He parked his truck now
His engine has stopped
And those who love him
Their hearts have dropped.
He traveled the country
With a smile of great pride
Now he drives the streets of Heaven
On the truckers last ride.
MAY GOD RIDE WITH YOU………10-4 AND GOODBYE
