I met Clay when I was in my teens and became a customer of his while I was living in Winnipeg. Later in life, Clayton’s Hair Styling For Men became the “go to place” for my father and three young sons. More importantly, I was able to call Clay a good friend.
Clay was a gregarious man who enjoyed talking and laughing and as a customer and friend, you were the focal point of his terrific talent as a barber. If you were ever in the need for anything, Clay was the man to talk to due to his vast circle of friends.
Clay was actively involved in his adopted communities of Rockwood and Pinawa. During my time involved in municipal politics in the Rural Municipality of Lac du Bonnet, I had the pleasure of working with Clayton on various committees.
Clay’s presence will be missed by the myriad of friends and family whose lives he touched. Even during his illness, he was surrounded by the people he loved and was no doubt the happiest and upbeat person around. He was able to cram a great deal of love and laughter into his 77 years of life.
My entire family extends its heartfelt condolences to the entire McMurren Clan on the passing of” Uncle Jerry”. May your memories and experiences with Clay bring you much joy during this time of sorrow.
Until we meet again, Clay, “Go Rest High On The Mountain”!

My deepest condolences to Clay’s family. I was “late to the game” as a customer. Having said that, he was always accommodating, personable and it was a joy to have him cut my hair. Great conversations.
He will be dearly missed.
