Mom was born and raised in Friedensfeld, MB until the age of nine when her family relocated to Glenfields, MB in 1934. Mom attended Rattray School and helped with the farm and taking care of her younger brothers and sisters.
In her early 20’s Mom moved to Winnipeg and did day work cleaning houses and also worked in the kitchen at St. Boniface hospital. She always shared fond memories of those times working and going to hall dances with her friends. After a few years Mom moved back to the farm to help her parents.
Mom and Dad married in 1950 and together they farmed for 44 years eventually retiring in Beausejour in 2003.
