Charlotte Schellenberg, aged 86 years, passed away on October 27, 2023 at Bethania Personal Care Home.
Charlotte is survived by five children; Adam (Shelley), Rodney, Cindy (Gerry), Michael (Tina), and Tammy; four sisters; Alice, Maggie, Helen and Anne; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her. Mom was predeceased by her parents, husband Mike, and son Danny.
She was born on August 9, 1937, in Stanley Mission, SK, and had a total of 10 other siblings in her family. She moved to Great Falls, MB, when she was three years old. She was a residential school survivor. In her later teens, she worked in tourist resorts. In the early 1970’s, she attended the University of Winnipeg and went on to becoming the director of the first women’s crisis shelter. She also enjoyed spending time with all her family, especially all outdoor activities like picking wild rice and blueberries, gardening and fishing.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Bethania Care Home for their loving and compassionate care they always gave to mom.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 4 at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue E., Beausejour with interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Polish National Cemetery also in Beausejour.

I always remember dad saying before he passed that aunty charlotte and aunty alice were tough ole broads because they were still going out to pick blue berries and he just gave a big belly laugh beautiful memories now she is with family on the other side with no more pain and lots of love ……I always say love never dies Till we all meet again… love you aunty Charlotte and my deepest condolances…. love and hugs going out to all the family

My most profound and sincerest condolences to the Schellenberg ( Fontain ) family. I met Charlotte for the first time earlier this year and fell in love with her infectious laugh and smile. Visiting her at the Bethania Care Home and having her out at my home with her daughter Cindy was pure joy and will leave me with so many fond memories of her beautiful smile. I will miss you sweet Charlotte…..rest well !
