Charlie passed away at the Pinawa Hospital on Thursday March, 1, 2018 at the age of 83.
Charlie will be lovingly remembered by his step-daughters: Barbara (Steve), Cindy (Art), and Crystal (Darin); sister Coreen Terrio; all his special nieces and nephews, as well as many friends.
Charlie was predeceased by his wife June, sister Caroline and brothers James, George and Clifford.
Charlie started working for Hydro on April 16, 1952 as a Tramway labourer. He also drove a bus to Slave Falls, and Lac Du Bonnet, and from 1979-1982 he drove the school bus to Lac du Bonnet. Charlie retired on January 12, 1986 as a Tramway Equipment Operator.
Charlie was always willing to lend a helping hand and was a friend to everyone he met. He left a legacy of 28 lots for cottages and homes which is located on Shand Road in Pointe du Bois. Charlie’s love of the outdoors included hunting, fishing, and cutting wood on the Winnipeg River and George Lake.
The family would like to thank Dr. Bruneau and the staff at Pinawa hospital for all the care and compassion they showed towards Charlie, especially Cathy.
As per Charlie’s wishes, Cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held.

We were just getting to know Charlie and June in the last 2 years of their lives. Charlie was my father’s ( Raymond Shand ) half brother from his father’s first marriage. We shared family stories and photographs. We are grateful for our brief meetings. RIP
