June 8, 1940 – April 7, 2022
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend, Casmir Bukoski who passed away at Health Sciences Centre on April 7, 2022 at the age of 81.
He was predeceased by his wife Bonnie (nee Oliver) in 2012, parents Stanley and Caroline, brothers Stanley, Joe, Edward, Ted and Alfred, sisters Pauline, Jean, Minnie and Kay, and son in-law Manuel Cuadros.
He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Christine Dutka (David), Holly Paidel-Bukoski (Jordyn), and Marilyn Bonkowski (Trevor). As well he leaves his grandchildren Cameron (Iness), Nicholas, Christopher (Monica), Meagan and Kaitlyn. He is also survived by his last brother John.
Dad was born the last of eleven children. He was born and raised on the Bukoski homestead one mile south of Tyndall. Dad was a simple kind of man; he never wanted anything fancy. He worked hard, first at the Selkirk Rolling Mills. He then came to do what would be his life-working the family farm with his brothers. Sometime in the year 1969 he would meet Bonnie Oliver; they fell in love and on October 10, 1970 they were married.
Dad enjoyed deer hunting, watching sports and hearing about the lives of all his grandkids. His favourite thing was doing his daily drives to keep an eye on the area and drop in on family and friends.
Dad lived on the farm until last September when he made the move to Stony Plains. He loved it there, he made friends quickly but especially with “Corny”.
The family wishes to thank so many people that were special to dad. To Frank and Shirley, thank you for keeping an eye on dad and allowing him to stay at his home for as long as he did. The companions, kitchen staff and home care staff at Stony Plains that were there for him every day. To Sobering staff, your help has been amazing and made this process a little easier.
Thank you to all our family and friends that have supported us with the loss of our Dad. It gives us peace knowing he is with Mom again.
Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, June 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue E., Beausejour. Interment of Mom and Dad will follow in St. Mary Parish Cemetery.
Life is not forever, Love is.
