On Tuesday, January 23, 2024 Carrie Toker passed away at the age of 92.
Carrie was predeceased by her first husband Bill Brincheski and second husband Mike Toker of Lac Du Bonnet, son Jim and daughter Pat.
Family expresses gratitude to the Whitemouth Personal Care Home for the love and support they provided her.
Carrie is survived by her daughters Carol Orvis (Rodney), Maryann Kotowich (Al), Brenda Whittaker (Al); grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

I always enjoyed my visits with Carrie.
So friendly and a wealth of information as I was new to LDB in 1998. I haven’t seen Carrie in a long time but have thought about her often. I really enjoyed the fresh Rhubarb from her garden and our chats.

Dear cousins Carol Maryann Brenda & families…my dear sympathies to you. I have such wonderful memories of Auntie Carrie…she was always the sweetest Aunt to all of us nieces & nephews. My childhood memories of time spent with all of us little kids on the Brincheski farm are unforgettable. I remember them vividly. Kids running everywhere. Playing from morning to night with animals & anything that seemed entertaining…which was everything! Lots of pigs oinking. Cows around ponds. Small cousin Pat being so much braver than me…riding a great big horse bareback. Poor little Jimmy being the only boy around all of us bossy girls. Hopping into the back of a pick up truck for rides on dusty roads. Usually driven by Uncle Bill or Uncle Stanley or maybe even Alex Petrus…I remember him. A bee sting that really really hurt. Harvest time in the fields. Auntie Carrie working tirelessly in massive gardens & endlessly cooking for what seemed like dozens of people at a time. If you saw her with an axe…God forbid you happened to be the chicken crossing her path before supper!!! A St. Bernard dog the size of a small horse. I had THE BEST childhood because of all my relatives…your Mom being a major part of that. She was a good hard working woman who looked after everyone. I remember her as always smiling. My fondest last memory…in Whitemouth…bringing cousin Nick from Vancouver to visit her. They had not seen each other in years & years. She didn’t know any of us. After studying him for a bit…she said “Nick?” He still talks to me about that moment. It affected him so unbelievably wonderfully. She remembered him. Heavenly peace to you Auntie Carrie. I’ll never forget you. Love always niece ❤️Amy❤️

Oh my goodness Roland…it has been years since I have seen you.
So happy to see your condolence…so I can reply to you & family as well. I am sorry you lost a part of your past…Auntie Carrie was your family too. I remember the day your Dad & Auntie Carrie got married in the little Anglican Church. My favourite vision never forgotten…me driving into LduB to visit family & when I got to the corner there they were! Auntie Carrie & Uncle Mike in the bountiful garden & surrounded by beautiful flowers. Such a comforting sight when going home…all was good. I would honk & we’d all wave to each other & visit later. It was wonderful they had each other & they enjoyed their later years together. Your Dad was a very nice man whose visits were always entertaining. He grew very tasty vegetables & was always so generous with sharing. Well…they are together in the big garden in the sky now…smiling I’m sure. Take care Roland. Hope you are well. Amy

Maryann and all the family – we pray for you and your family to find fortitude to bear the great loss of your mother Carrie. Once your tears dry up and you have all said your goodbyes, may what you have left is beautiful and happy memories you all shared with mom that will keep her in your hearts forever. My memories are of a kind mother who welcomed us kids into her home with a smile and kindness, but mostly, great food!! I loved my times out at your farm. Dear Carol, Brenda, Maryanne and families. My deepest condolences in the passing of your dear mom. I knew your mom and dad mainly from the early 60’s when Jimmy and I used to play. I remember all those very memorable times I walked over to your farm to play with Jim and he walked over to ours. I remember Patsy and you girls playing together. Those were wonderful times. I was very shaken when I heard of Jim’s tragic passing. I remember your dear mom and dad and how very nice and friendly they always were, always very welcoming of a little kid. I remember your dad visiting my dad and mom to discuss farm issues. Although I seen your mom infrequently in later years it was like the old days when we chatted. Your mom was a wonderful lady. May your mom be Resting In Peace.
