1924 ~ 2015
Peacefully on June 27, 2015 with family by her side, Caroline passed away at the Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home at the age of 90. She was predeceased by her husband Kaino Ketola, siblings George, Jim and Clifford Shand.
Caroline is survived by her son Ken (Diane), daughter Susan, grandchildren Kyle, Krista and Mark, sister Coreen Terrio, brother Charles Shand (June) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Caroline, in her younger days, worked for Winnipeg Hydro as a cook at Slave Falls and Pointe du Bois. She and her husband operated George Lake Outfitters until 1988. She was an active member of the Lac du Bonnet Pioneer Club, Legion and the Health Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, curling and many other activities.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Lac du Bonnet PCH and Dr. M. Bruneau for their constant care and compassion.
Cremation has taken place. A private family burial will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
