Brayden Brian James Lackman

Peacefully, with his family by his side, Brayden passed away on December 29, 2011, at the age of 2 ½ years.

Brayden was born June 30, 2009 at St. Boniface Hospital.  He was a fighter right from the start, and finally came home on November 25, 2009.  Full of determination, he defied the odds, spending two wonderful years at home with his family in Tyndall, Manitoba.  He was a miracle who knew no limitations.

Brayden had a real zest for life.  His personality was one of a kind; his sense of humor far beyond his years. He was smart as a whip; mastering his shapes, colors and ABC’s.  Thanks to “Papa and Baba”, he could also count all the way up to 13, even though 3 and 4 were sometimes missed.

Brayden loved music.  He could keep a beat or sing to almost any tune, and especially loved “Jingle Bells”.  He also enjoyed spending time outside; he loved helping Mommy take care of the flowers, going for walks, playing at his water table, and always said “again!” when Daddy would rev the Mustang.

Brayden ruled the roost; he was always a little boss who kept everyone in line.

Brayden will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by his parents Kelly and Terry Lackman; grandparents: Jim and Linda Bukoski (Papa and Baba) and Brian and Carol Lackman; great grandmothers: Wilma Schultz and Muriel Turner; aunts and uncles: Debbie and Joel Majeau, Jeff (the Count) and Shannon Bukoski, Jonathan Lackman, and Adria Baker; cousin Lucas Bukoski; many great aunts and uncles, and extended cousins; and of course, Elmo and his friends on Sesame Street (“the guys”).

He was predeceased by his great grandparents Joseph Bukoski, Edmund Schultz, Willy and Anne Bauschke, and David and Clara Lackman.

A private service was held.  Donations may be made in Brayden’s memory to The Movement Centre of Manitoba, 1646 Henderson Hwy., Winnipeg, MB  R2G 1N7, www.movementcentre.ca.

Special thanks to all the doctors and nurses of the PICU, Dr. Faisal Al-Somali and Pastor Mark for your compassion and caring.  We are also grateful to Adria, Judy, and Papa and Baba for taking such wonderful care of Brayden while mommy and daddy were at work.

Although his time was short, Brayden changed so many lives for the better.  He was truly a pleasure to know and love.
