1942 ~ 2015
September 14, 2015, suddenly and far too soon we lost Beverley Jean Humphreys.
Beverley leaves behind her loving husband Jim, son Brad, his wife Laurie and granddaughter Haley. Together we mourn with her brother Terri, wife Noraleen, nieces Tammy, Krista and Sharon and the entire Humphreys family.
Bev was born in Brandon, MB to William and Irene Bertrand on June 17, 1942. The family moved to Winnipeg when Bev was young. She grew up in Norwood Flats graduating from Nelson McIntyre. She was a member of Norwood United Church, attended CGIT, and Job’s Daughters, becoming the first Honour Queen of Bethel One. The Bertrands spent many happy summers on Lake Brereton, where she met Jimmy, the love of her life, marrying him July 2, 1966. She loved to cook and bake and dote on Bradley. The memories that she spoke of with the most fondness and joy centered around “the lake”. After Jim remodeled “the bus” the three of them continued the Brereton Lake tradition. Anyone that knew them will remember the bus and fun times around the campfire-bush pies anyone? This is where many of the close friendships that exist to this day were formed. And finally, they moved to the family cabin in 2003. After renovating the cabin you could always find Bev on the deck welcoming all for happy hour. Bev loved her family and was delighted to welcome granddaughter Haley, the apple of her eye. The Bombers and Jets benefitted from her cheers for many years. We are glad to say that she got to see the Bombers beat the Riders one last time.
There will be one last happy hour with Bev held at Rennie Community Club, Rennie Mb, on September 26, 2015 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers a donations can be made to either CancerCare MB or the Fire Fighters Burn Fund.

Mr. H, Brad, Laurie and Haley we are sorry to hear this and pass along our heartfelt condolences. Brad, I have so many fond memories of playing D&D in your basement in Winnipeg. Your mom was so attentive and always had great treats and snacks ready for the gang on those marathon nights of gaming. She always was super kind to all of us and a great hostess. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you in this tough time. Love, the Huberts
