B. Jeanne Stevenson

June 17, 1933-October 24, 2020

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Jeanne Stevenson on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at her home in Lac du Bonnet, MB.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Douglas of 65 years, her daughters Chrystal (Dick), Rita (Scott), René (Shaun) and Wendy May, grandchildren Doug (Amy), Robert, Richard (Doug), David (Samantha), Natasha (Doug), Roderick, Liam and Mikéla, six great grandchildren, sister Shirley (Bill), numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

She was predeceased by her son Roderick Michael, mother Mary Theresa, brother Ronald and sister Theresa.

Jeanne was born and raised in Chatham, ON.  Jeanne and Doug met and got married in 1955.  They moved to Edmonton as newlyweds where they started their family.  Jeanne and Doug had many adventures that eventually brought them to Manitoba.

Jeanne was a very charitable and compassionate person.  This was evident in the relationships she built with everyone she met.  She carried a great strength and had a healing touch.  At the age of 62 she went back to school and became a Certified Massage Therapist.  It was important to her that she make a difference in people’s lives.

The family has created a web page in memory of Jeanne. Please visit www.rememberingjeannestevenson.com.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeanne’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or CancerCare Manitoba.

“Think of her as living

In the hearts of those she touched.

For nothing loved is every lost

And she was loved so much.”

I knew Aunt Jeanne as a soft spoken gentle lady who cared very much about her clients and her family, always wanting to help others out of their pain. I will always remember the kindnesses she showed mom and dad – she was thoughtful and helpful in so many ways and we always knew she could be counted on if needed. We are sending our sincere sympathy to Doug, her girls and their families as they struggle to come to terms to her sudden passing. She is lovingly remembered by Barb & Ray XX00

We remember Jeanne as quiet at family gatherings, but always willing to listen to the many ongoing conversations around her. In later years, as we saw her more frequently she was excited about her work, caring about her clients and willing to share her knowledge with family regarding wellness concerns. Ruth will always be very grateful to her for advice regarding a tragedy in the Hunter family.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Doug, Crystal, Rita, Rene, Wendy and their families. May loving memories sustain you in the upcoming days.

So sorry to hear of Aunt Jeanne’s passing. She was a great aunt and very kind. We share great memories of her over the years, from the time we all spent in Isaac’s Harbour, and all the help and support she gave to my father in his sickness, and my mother after he was gone.

Our thoughts are with Uncle Doug, Crystal, Rita, Rene and Wendy, and their families.
