With broken hearts, our family announces the sudden passing of Augusta (Gusty) Small, beloved Mom, Grandma, Sister & Aunt.
Gusty leaves behind her daughter, Darlene (Julian) Dudych, and 4 grandchildren, Lindsay, Shayne, Alanna, & Alexa. Also left behind are special nephew Ken (Shauna) Small, sister-in-law Arlene Kines, and best furry friend, Bella. Gusty was predeceased by her parents, Gustave & Marianna Schwark, her husband and soul-mate, John, and son Lloyd.
Gusty was born & grew up in the RM of St. Clements. She met John when she was 15 years old and it was love at first sight. They were married in 1962, and lived on their current residence till 1971, when the decision was made to be “Alberta bound”. They moved back to the current homestead in 1978 and resided there since.
She worked at Freshwater Fisheries until her retirement in 2000. Her retirement was spent camping and travelling with the grand kids. Many summers to the U.S. & B.C as well as many local campgrounds. Special memories were made by all.
She was always there to support her grand kids – 4H shows, school concerts, Ukrainian Dance concerts, horse shows, or whatever the occasion, she would always be there. She loved going to the small country fairs and getting together at community events.
Travelling and camping was her passion. On their 25th year of marriage, they took a road trip to Alaska.
Crafts and sewing was another retirement pastime. Many dresses, outfits & Halloween costumes were all made to the finest detail. Gardening with Dad was another enjoyment resulting in many fresh bags of peas they shared with the grand kids.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Ave. E in Beausejour.
Mom, you are with Dad again, may you rest in peace.
