1945 ~ 2015
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Art Burden on September 18, 2015. He passed quietly and peacefully at home, just as he wanted.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Alys, the love of his life, son David, daughter Tammy (Doug), son Rodney (Melanie), brothers Bob (Shirley), Don (Gloria), & Peter (Carol) & many nieces, & nephews. It gives us all comfort to know that Art is with other friends & loved ones and he can share his many famous stories with a whole new audience. Art was a big personality & a great man who will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held September 25, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Brokenhead Room of the Rec Complex in Beausejour, Manitoba. There will be a service and opportunity for everyone to share memories of Art.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Art’s name to the Brokenhead River Community Foundation, Box 2225, Beausejour, Manitoba R0E 0C0.

We are unable to attend the service as we are presently in Victoria. We just learned of Art’s passing and our thoughts and prayers will be for Alys and the Burden family.Art was indeed a sincere,a very community minded, and “team player” person who strived and worked hard to make the Beausejour Fire Department and the RCL Branch 132 much better organizations. He had a gentle and warm way of working with others. He will truly be missed. Our condolences.
