Left to treasure her memories are her children Jim (Gail) and Terry (Kathy), her grandchildren Jamie (Kim), Shawna, Lee (Deanna); Kristy (Blair), Justin (Lori) and Carly (Eric).  She will also be forever remembered by her proudest accomplishment, her great grandchildren, Kenzie & Kady; Kayden; Taylor, Dahlia, Bailey and Shaelynn; Kallie & Ryelan; Lucas & Jordyn and Rielle, Pria and Ellis.  She is survived by siblings Ken, Irene, Cecilia, Dennis (Bonnie) and in-laws Steffie, Pat, Edna (Ralph) and many nieces and nephews.

Arlene was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Irvin, as well as numerous family members and friends that always held a special place in her heart.

Arlene was born on September 18, 1932 in Winnipeg but spent her whole life in the Brokenhead area until she married the love of her life on September 15, 1951 and settled on the family homestead in Golden Bay.  Arlene was the hardest worker, whether it was on the farm, in her house, her restaurant jobs or her countless volunteer positions on the Beausejour Hospital Board, at church, the craft show and many other events which always involved delicious food!

Arlene’s wishes were fulfilled as she was able to remain in the home she built with her Irvin until the very end.  Special thanks to Dr. Schmidt, the staff at the Beausejour Hospital and Rhonda and staff from Sobering Funeral Chapel for all the wonderful care and compassion you provided to Arlene and the family

To Terry, Jim and the whole Richter family. Words can’t express the loss I feel and I know you do, on Arlene’s passing. I have lost a dear cousin but more so a dear friend. She was the big sister I never had. Arlene was confronted with some challenging decisions to make in life and I’m sure God helped make those decisions for her by taking her home to heaven. May the wonderful person she was in life keep beautiful memories of her alive for you. Rest In Peace dear Arlene. You will be so missed but not forgotten.

Sending our condolences to Arlene’s family on the passing of a wonderful lady. Arlene was a very good and devoted friend to our late aunt Velma, and also to our late Uncle Harry. Together we always enjoyed Arlene’s company along with fun, food and laughter. Year after year we witnessed her amazing organizational and management skills as Arlene coordinated the food service at the annual craft shows. In recent years, Covid had kept us apart, but we were looking forward to meeting Arlene again soon, as we chatted by phone. She will be missed.
