1950 – 2023
We are heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of Arlene Beth Ladouceur, age 73, at the end of August. Arlene is predeceased by her parents, Iva and Virgil Vickaryous. She leaves behind her two sisters, Brenda Pascal (Fred) and Linda Vickaryous, her two sons Marc Ladouceur (Patti Ladouceur) and Justin Ladouceur (Kaila Ladouceur), and her five grandsons whom she adored Lucas, Leo and Levi as well as Colton and Hudson.
Arlene began her life in a small Saskatchewan town and ended her life in a small Manitoban town. After moving to Winnipeg, Arlene began her career as a nurse, helping and assisting many people in her life. She was very proud of her two sons and the beautiful lives they created. After retiring, Arlene spent her summers walking and biking, puttering in her gardens, and enjoying a glass of wine with friends. She was a very hard worker in all areas of her life. Most of her summers were spent at the cabin, a treasure that would become a special place for the children and grandchildren to make memories. In the winter months, Arlene would enjoy attending theatre with her friends, cheering for her favourite hockey team; the Winnipeg Jets and attending her grandson’s hockey games. Arlene loved having her grandsons over for visits, taking them for the long walk to the candy store to buy treats, followed by swims at the beach or skating on the lake in the winter.
We would like to thank the community in which Arlene lived. She spoke so highly of her neighbours who often helped water her garden while she was at the lake or gave her fresh garden veggies.
A small celebration of life will be held with close family friends. If you would like to donate in her honour, you can support a local dog shelter in need such as K9 Advocacy Manitoba.
Grandma Arlene never ran out of kisses and cookies and we will all miss having her around. Arlene is reunited with her dog Spencer the schnauzer; may they enjoy walks together forever.
