July 25, 1954 ~ April 15, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce that Allen passed away peacefully at the Beausejour Hospital Saturday April 15, at the age of 68 years.
He is survived by his sons, Murray, Aaron and Nicholas, brother Wayne (Norma), sister Carolyn (Larry), sister-in-law MaryAnn (Paul), brother-in-law Raymond, many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Nona, parents Dan and Pauline and brothers Dennis and Ronald.
Allen married Nona in 2002 enjoying country living together for 19 years. Allen enjoyed raising the boys and making treehouses and fixing things for them.
Allen was an electrician by trade and started working for Roy’s Electric in Winnipeg. He moved back to the farm to build his home and start his own business. Later on, he worked for the Province of Manitoba at Selkirk and Milner Ridge.
From a young age Allen enjoyed taking things apart to see what makes them work. He developed his patience and knowledge and no matter if it was a broken child’s toy or full-size tractor, he was always able to fix it and make it work again.
Allen was a kind gentle person that enjoyed reading and taking a walk through his bush to his favorite mushroom patch.
Many thanks to the staff at the Selkirk Emergency and Beausejour Hospital for the care of Allen in his last few days. Your heroic efforts are greatly appreciated in these times.
According to Allen’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Internment and private service will be held at a later date.
Rest in peace dear father, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. You will be in our hearts forever.
Memorial donations can be made to the Beausejour Hospital TV Fund, Box 1614, Beausejour, MB R0E 0C0.

Our deepest condolences to Murray, Aaron, Nicholas and all their extended family. Tony and I were shocked and saddened to learn of the untimely and sudden passing of your dad. Tony and Allen worked together at Roy’s Electric and other electical jobs for many years. Allen was indeed a kind and gentle person who would help anyone in need just at the mention of the word “need”. For example, one small circumstance among many, that we recall, was October 31, 1979 when Allen helped us move from the far west end of Winnipeg to our first house in Oakbank, during a blinding snowstorm. Sad to say that we have lost touch with Allen when we moved to the Okanagan Valley in December 2021 but memories will never be forgotten. He will be truly missed by his family and the many friends that he encounter during his “Circle of Life”. Rest in Peace dear friend.

Sorry to hear of the passing of my step father who raised me from the age of 6-14. Sending love and condolences to family. I have many very happy memories, one that sticks out was our wonderful family road trip to California and Disney Land. He raised myself and my sister Laura as if we were his very own children.
