1950 ~ 2020
Allan Urban passed away peacefully, at the age of 70, on August 20, 2020 at Pinawa Hospital.
Allan was predeceased by his parents, Arnold and Gladys Urban. He was survived by his best friend and wife, Cathy, brother Doug (Roberta), children Sue (Randy), Andrew (Jennie) his grandchildren, Bryston and Samantha, niece Cheryl (daughter Rose) and nephew Michael.
Allan was a lifelong resident of the Lac du Bonnet community, serving as a councillor and also a volunteer fire fighter. With his Dad and son by his side, who were all electricians ran Urban Sales and Service and provided a huge contribution to the Lac du Bonnet community.
On his downtime he was a great story teller, as any that listened knows! If you ever had to have a question, he would answer, if he didn’t have an answer he would research it till he could. He also loved his guitar, along with his Dad or friends; it would be a sing-a-long for hours. Allan had a true passion for his kids and grandkids; he loved them and would do anything possible he could to be the best Dad and Papa!
The family wishes to thank Dr. Bruneau, those at cancer care and all the patient staff at the Lac du Bonnet Medical Group and Pinawa hospital.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at the Urban farm located at 246 Wendigo Road in Lac du Bonnet, at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 29, 2020. Due to covid-19 guidelines, we can only accept a maximum of 100 guests and the family is requesting that masks be worn, and to remember to physical distance.

Thirty years ago Allan and his family took the two young students who moved in next door into their family for a summer. It was the best summer we have ever had. Singing around the kitchen table in the evenings, listening to Allan’s stories, laughing at the picnic table in the back yard, playing at the farm are all wonderful memories for us. We were so lucky to visit again a few years ago. The world has lost a wonderful, caring, big hearted man who created a strong, loving family. All our love to Cathy, Sue and Andrew.
