Allan James Cassidy

1947 ~ 2021

At the Pinawa Hospital on March 31, 2021 at the age of 73 Allan James Cassidy passed peacefully into the hands of our Lord.

He was predeceased by his father, mother and two sisters.  Left to cherish memories of him are his wife Cheryl of 39 years and soulmate of 46 years, his two sons Shannon (Christina) and Trevor (Nadia) and three grandchildren whom he lovingly adored Eli, Alex and Gabby, and the many hearts that he touched through his lifetime.

He was born and raised in Timmins, Ontario.  His adventures in life took him through many career choices as an accountant, a realtor, insurance agent and owning his own businesses.  He loved to play “monopoly” in real life…the buying and selling of properties.

Al had a love for life.  His true passion was FISHING and the great outdoors!  He was very involved with his church family.  Being a very generous man Al contributed towards many charities.

The family would like to thank Dr. Bruneau and the staff at the Pinawa Hospital for their care and support.  A special thanks also goes out to all of the people who have reached out to the family during this trying time.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 7 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Church in Beausejour.  Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the family welcomes you to be a part of the service in the parking lot of the church by tuning your radio station to 98.1 FM.  There will be an opportunity to sign the guest register and acknowledge the family from your vehicle.  Interment will follow in the Pinawa Cemetery.

Remember me with smiles and laughter

As I will remember you all.

If you can only remember me with tears

Then don’t remember me at all.

    Cheryl, Trevor, Shannon, and families.

I am so very sorry and sad to hear Al has passed. I am happy I got to chat with him recently and reminisce about our days together at the insurance and sears office. The clock Al gave me as I moved on to a new job, was in hopes I may show up to my new job on time….. great sense of humour Al had, I will continue to think of him with every wind of the clock. He sincerely was one of the best bosses I ever worked for….he will be fondly remembered for so much, kind, gentle, caring, community minded….. all around great guy ! He will be missed. Sincerest condolences to you all. Catherine Gowryluk

Dear Cheryl, I am so very sorry you have lost Allan. I remember with fondness seeing you both out walking in Pinawa, as I walked with Mel, whom I lost in July 2018. Thinking of you and wishing you smiles of fond memories through your tears. Hugs, Sim Gascoyne

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Allan’s death. I have fond memories of him (actually, both of you), particularly going back to earlier shared times in PCF, and the Science Academy. He was one of those smiling and cheerful Pinawa faces one never forgets. Cheryl, I am so sorry that you and your family have to bear this grief so soon in your lives. Roger Dutton
