Albert (Bert) Chevrefils, known as Pépère by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, passed away on June 11, 2019.
Dearly missed and left to remember all of his many stories are his wife of 62 years, Alice, his children, Ronald (Annette), Corinne (Ron), Louise (Rick), Richard (Colleen) and Claire (Trevor) and his 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, Herve and Mary and his brothers, Donat, Lawrence, Sylvio and Alain.
Bert was born on March 20, 1934 in Pine Falls and grew up on the family farm in the Chevrefils District where he learned the value of hard work. He worked in the newsprint mill in Pine Falls for 23 years as a pipefitter and retired to complete his career on the farm and family logging business.
Pépère loved telling jokes to anyone who would listen and was always ready with a good story. He enjoyed spending time in his garden tending to his plants and vegetables. As a great man of faith Bert could often be found in church conversing with his Lord. Besides his family, he will be missed by the local church, prayer community and the Knights of Columbus. Pépère and Memere loved fiddle music and spent many weekends at festivals listening and dancing the time away. His fiddle will be missed, especially by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at Notre Dame du Laus Catholic Church in Powerview-Pine Falls, Manitoba on Monday, June 17. Prayers at 1:00 p.m. followed by Mass at 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Notre Dame du Laus Building Fund, Pine Falls or Life’s Vision Manitoba Inc., Winnipeg, MB.

Alice and Family
I was saddened to hear of your loss, I am confident that Bert is in heaven with his Lord and Saviour. I often quote him when he said “You will be surprised by who you see and who you don’t see in heaven”
I know for sure I will see Bert Chevrefils up there. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
