October 18, 1928 – September 14, 2023
Adolf Witte died peacefully at Pinawa Hospital after a brief period of age-related health decline. He is survived by four children, Arnold, Erica Spakowski, Sonia and Barbara, as well as four grandchildren.
Born in Radbruch Germany Oct. 18 1928, Dad came to Canada in the early fifties and worked a variety of jobs throughout the western provinces before settling in Lac du Bonnet.
After a life of professional beekeeping, Adolf led a highly active retirement hiking, canoeing, cross-country skiing, dancing and playing tennis. He kept a “snowbird” home in Arizona in addition to his Manitoba home for many years.
Dad did not want a formal service, the family is having a private memorial. Thanks to all the staff at the Pinawa hospital, as well to all the friends for their loving support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

Sorry to hear about the passing of your father. He was a man of many talents. Fond memories growing up across the road from you guys riding bikes and building forts at the tracks. We enjoyed admiring his taxidermy and wood work downstairs, tree grafting (even though he said not to touch the fruit – I did) sleeping in the playhouse and hanging back a good distance when he was working in hopes we’d get a piece of dripping wax to chew on. I’ll never forget the “bee window” in the room where he sold the honey and people could watch thru the glass the bees working and how honey was made. Sending my condolences to you all. Take care.
