1923 ~ 2018
Peacefully on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, Gladys Urban passed away at the Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home.
Gladys was born in Riverland on April 7 attending school in Lac du Bonnet, MB. She lived in the area for most of her life with the exception of a few years during WW2. One of the most remarkable thing about a rural girl from her era was she achieved a grade 11 education. In July of 1946 she married the love of her life Arnold. Shortly thereafter partnering with him in the family business.
As time went Douglas (Roberta) and Allan (Cathy) came along, than grandkids Sue Allyn, Andrew and Cheryl (Rougeman) and finally great grandkids Bryston, Samantha and Rose.
She loved her yard and plants and flowers, she appreciated the arts and was an avid reader, also she loved her music especially Arnold’s . As a mother and grandmother she encouraged us to listen and appreciate the good things in life. Being both loving and forgiving she set a fine example for all to follow. Gladys was the last of our family elders to leave us.
The family would like to thank the staff at Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home.
Cremation has taken place. A service will be announced at a later date.
