It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Alice Ruth Eckert at the Beausejour Hospital on Monday, December 12, 2016 at the age of 82.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Harry Eckert and their children Ron/Digger (Val) Eckert, Angel (Peter) Busch, James/Woody Eckert, and Debbie (Gary) Bialek; grand-children Ryan Eckert, Scott (Lacey) Eckert, Jason Eckert, Michelle (Andrew) Dyck, Brent (Indy) Eckert and Brendyn Bialek; great grand-children Dallas, Berlyn and Robyn. Mom is also survived by her sisters Lorraine (Walter) Flyer, Eleanor (Ray) Thomas, Janice (Harry) Sawatzky along with many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.
Mom was born in Beausejour and she and her family moved several times finally settling in Winnipeg. She married her husband Harry in May 1953 and began their life together raising their family. Mom worked outside the home in a variety of jobs and she always worked hard. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, cooking, taking care of her home and family, and visiting her sisters on the West Coast.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Beausejour Hospital for their care and support.
Funeral Service will take place on Friday, December 16th at 1:30 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue, Beausejour. Viewing will take place one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
