This is so tragic, Arlene was one of the kindest most genuine people I ever met, she will be sadly missed by many. My heart goes out to all of her family and friends, especially her step children.

Arlene was simply one of a kind with her warm, welcoming and genuine caring personality. Walking into the Howland will never be the same without one of her happy-to-see-you “Hey Darlin!” greetings. Her passing has left a massive void in our community … everyone knew and loved Arlene. Far too young, far too soon … my condolences to the family, her dear friends, her Howland family and all who are sharing in this hurt.

As I was reading your comment this morning and the few days that have gone by, our family is so grateful for all the support that the town of Beausejour has given us. I thought the saying “Hey Darlin” was only for her family but now have realized that her family was “MUCH MUCH BIGGER” then we thought! We and the whole community will miss that special girl.
You will always be with us “Darlin Sis”

She touched so many lives with “hey Darlin” and the absolute terrific part was it felt so genuine. I will miss her charm ,smile and most of all her first words to me how are the pugs. I’ve adopted pugs from a rescue and she was absolutely more concerned about their well being then mine I think.

I have known Arlene for 27 years…she was just a baby…but she was my boss…I was terrified of her. Then I got to know her…and found out that she is the most real, wonderful, one of a kind person that everyone is just drawn to. There was no one else like her and there never will be again. She is going to be missed so much..by so many people. To Carol and the rest of the family, I am sorry for your great loss. I am sorry for all of us because we have lost a very precious gem whose name was Arlene.

I grew up with Arlene & her Mom drove the bus I took to school everyday for most of my school life. Spent many years in 4H with her. Shocked & saddened to hear of her tragic passing. Although I didn’t see her much over the last few years as I moved away, whenever I was in the area & stopped in at the Howland she always had a big smile & friendly word. She will be sadly missed by so many.

Carol and Family so sorry to hear of your loss. Jake often talked of Arlene when he went for a beer of how friendly and jovial she was,she always asked how all were doing and how he was. He said she always was smiling. She will so be missed. You Take care Carol as I to know it is not easy to lose a child. We both now have Guardian Angels to watch over us. Sorry I will not be able to make it to her celebration of life but will be thinking of you guys. Love from Jake and Margaret Dyck

Arlene was my first friend in Beausejour. I met her shortly after I arrived in 2001.
She made me feel like I had known her all my life. What a beautiful, beautiful lady. She just didn’t work at the Howland, she was the Howland to me. Whenever there was a special occasion at the hotel Arlene would always dress up for it. She looked downright gorgeous. And her Halloween outfits were legendary. Her hearty laugh and sparkling personality would light up the room. What a tragic loss. We love you Arlene.
