It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpectant passing of Raymond Earl Szatkowski at his home in Winnipeg on Sunday, August 8, 2010.
He is survived by his son Derrick Szatkowski, mother Irene Szatkowski, sister Darlene (Andy) Duchesne of Winnipeg, brothers Howard (Gayle) Szatkowski and Larry (Brenda) Szatkowski all of Beausejour. Earl is also survived by his niece Jennifer Szatkowski and nephews Justin (Amanda and their children Hailey and Jadyn) Szatkowski of Garson and Kelvin Szatkowski of Beausejour, as well as many extended family members and good friends. Earl was predeceased by his father Albert; great nephew Dylan, grandparents Hanna and Gus Jauster and Augusta and Gus Szatkowski, uncle Emil Szatkowski, Uncle Rudolph and Auntie Julie Jaster.
Earl was born January 12, 1953. He grew up and attended school in Beausejour. Earl worked at BACM as a crusher operator before moving on to Dew-Line where he worked for five years. In 1981 he started his own business, Golden Bay Services, which he operated for 13 years before slowly moving into retirement.
Earl’s smile, sense of humour, laughter and gentle ways will be missed by all who knew him dearly.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, August 16 at 1:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue E., Beausejour. A private family interment will follow; Earl’s final resting place will be in the Beausejour Town Cemetery.
