1938 ~ 2014
Surrounded by her husband, children and grandchildren, Doreen passed away peacefully on October 19, 2014 at Saint Boniface Hospital at the age of 76 after a long battle with cancer.
Mom was born at Lintlaw, SK to the late Larry and Emma Rothstein on July 18, 1938. As an only child she was special from the beginning of her life. She had a very close relationship with her parents who adored and taught her the true meaning of love, family and friends.
On August 6, 1959 Doreen married the love of her life Patrick Henry Enright. They immediately started their family in Yorkton, SK and then later moved to Roblin, MB. Mom worked as a bookkeeper for dad’s plumbing business until they made their final move to Pine Falls in 1987. Now living closer to their children and grandchildren they spent a lot of family time, camping, fishing and hunting. Mom must have had a special fishing rod as she usually caught the most fish or at least the biggest.
Mom, a deeply devoted Catholic, volunteered many hours to the church and was a lifetime member of the CWL. Aside from volunteering, mom loved working as a home caregiver. With compassion, mom enjoyed helping others in the community, and took great pride in her work.
Mom will always be remembered as a loving wife, a passionate mother and adoring nana. Her greatest joy in life was her family and especially family gatherings. Nana’s cookie jar was always full, awaiting the smiles of her adoring grandchildren.
We are blessed to have a mother who not only loved us, but taught us the true meaning of unconditional love. This will be Mom’s legacy.
Cherishing mom’s memory is her beloved husband Patrick, five children, Larry (Tammy), Tim, Jeff (Kim), Bernie (Del) Demchuk and Linda (Don) Phillips. Nana will also be greatly missed by her thirteen grandchildren: Amy, Alison, Dean, Brittni, Derek, Tory, Danny, Samantha, Darin, Robert, Emily, Cassie, Leah and two great-grandchildren: Addison and Tyler.
Celebration of Doreen’s life will be held on Friday, October 24, 2014 at Notre Dame Du Laus Catholic Church, 38 Laura St., Powerview MB. Prayers at 11:00 a.m. and the Funeral to follow at 11:30 a.m.. In lieu of flowers, donations to the church may be made in Doreen’s name.

Our deepest sympathies to Pat and family. Doreen will always be fondly remembered as a wonderful friend to myself and our family. She sure knew how to fillet a walleye, as Doreen was the friend that taught me how to do it. She will be missed by our family and all that knew her.

My heart aches for you all during this difficult acceptance of losing a wonderful wife and mom. I have many fond memories of the Enright family and all the visits we shared together at each other homes. Basically us kids grew up with each other and shared many laughs throughout the years making memories fishing, the huge potatoe patch, hunting, sausage making and many sleepovers. She was very special lady that had a very giving heart. Hugs to you all and God”s blessing in the days to follow.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I didn’t know my Auntie Doreen really well, but I always felt very comfortable when I was with her. Now we all have a beautiful guardian angel we can call upon when we need one…
