It was with sadness that I learned that Ray had passed away.
Raymond and I drove in the same car pool a few years back, when we worked at the Tanco Mine. Raymond was always full of quick wit and humour and was the positive kind of person that was good to know and have as a friend. Ray was not afraid of honest work and would always do his share and more, of any job. I recall a few years prior, when I was on the Notre Dame du Lac Parish Council, we were searching for someone to repair the old basement window openings as they had all been sealed, but had now started leaking. This was a dirty job, which involved shoveling down through the dirt outside by hand, then resealing the windows from the outside, while standing in the hole. No one appeared willing to do the work, then Ray stepped forward and single handedly, he repaired all the windows. I believe he was not feeling his best at the time, but despite this, he knew what had to be done, and he did it.
I believe that Ray was a man that any family would have been proud to have included, and I believe that the good lord will know who to call if there are any leaking windows up there.
I wish to offer my sincere condolences to Linda and the Family.
