1949 ~ 2012
With his family by his side, Don Sauve left us on August 21, 2012.
Left to mourn his passing is his wife, “the love of his life” Lorraine, his sons Alan (Diane), Yves (Michelle), and Dan (Dawn), his grandchildren Savannah, Sydney, Maelle, Mylene, Paige and Hunter, his dog Clark, and his two “daughters”, his nieces Lisa and Nicole.
He is predeceased by his parents, Joe and Gertrude, his brother Albert, father-in-law Norman Trudel and his infant sister-in-law Rose Marie. And no words can describe the void felt by the rest of his family: mother-in-law Jeanette Trudel-Hawranik, sister-in-laws Louise, Irene (Armand), Denise (Edgar), Della (Noel) and Annette (Melvin), as well as his many nephews and nieces to whom “Uncle Don” was synonymous with fun.
While he loved his work and some of his other pastimes such as hunting, his real passion was his family. He enjoyed spending time with his boys, whether it was doing some work, watching sports or just chatting. He could spend hours with Lorraine just driving around – as long as they were together he was happy. And there was always an extra special place in his heart for his grandchildren. There was always time to do whatever they wanted to do – the word “spoiled” never seemed to do it justice, but “love” certainly did.
His family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Pine Falls Hospital and the Health Sciences Centre CCU/MICU ward in Winnipeg. Their care; and most importantly, their caring were second to none.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to the Arthritis Society.
A celebration of his life was held on Sunday, August 262, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at 65 Papineau Place, St. George, MB. As Don would want it, please dress casually.

It is with great sadness hearing of Don’s passing. My thoughts are with his family who he loved so dearly. I had the pleasure and honor of working with Don from 1997 to 2001. Don was a real gentleman who loved his work, always with the best interest of the company, all its workers, and contractors in mind.

Lorraine & family:
Our thoughts go out to you. We are all saddened by the loss. I got to know Don better while working with him and really enjoyed his company and chats when he was in the office. I can vouch that he REALLY loved talking about his grandchildren and his family meant the world to him. He will be missed by all who knew him.

It’s been many years since Don and I worked together and the time I spent with him was both a pleasure and a great learning experience. He will be remembered as a man who loved his family, one who enjoyed the outdoors and who lived by his word. He will be missed by many.

Shocked to hear of Don’s passing. I can and will remember the fun times and laughter we all shared. We all have so little time on this planet, we should all cherish the good times and hold them in our hearts. I have many fond memories of our social and work relations that will carry on and on.
