1941 ~ 2011
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our dear sister, aunt, and friend.
Marcia was predeceased by her parents John and Marguerite, and brother Gregory. She is survived by her brothers: Michael (Shirley), Paul (Judy), David (Sheila), and Peter (Judy), as well as many nieces and nephews. She is lovingly remembered by her family and numerous friends from Pinawa, Winnipeg, Erin, Ontario, Toronto, and Montreal.
Marcia was born in Winnipeg. She attended school at St. Alphonsus and St. Mary’s Academy, and completed her education at the University of Manitoba with an Education Degree. She excelled in teaching and leadership at Christ the King School and St. Amant Centre. She moved to Ontario to continue her career in Education with the Catholic School Board in Guelph, Ontario. She had a profound effect on students and co-workers, and they continued to seek her friendship and guidance.
Marcia devoted her life to caring for others.
When Marcia retired and moved back to Winnipeg to be close to family, she “discovered the secret” of Pinawa. She fell in love with the people, community, and wildlife and made it her home.
The family would like to thank the Grace Hospital and Intensive Care Unit staff for their kindness and care.
A Memorial Service was held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 9, at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Avenue East in Beausejour.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marcia’s memory to a charity of your choice.

To all in Marcia’s family – the city of Guelph mourns her loss and is with you in spirit, prayers and thoughts. She was a CRUSADER for KIDS, who spent every moment of each day teaching all her colleagues about the commitment and sacrifices of “unconditional love.”

Dear Family and friends:
I am sorry to hear of Marcia’s passing. She truly was a special lady. I knew her first in Erin where I used to sit her dogs and have visited her at her home in Piawa. In her honlur I will donate $25.00 to Kiva.org a charity that is micro lending so her charity will go on repeatedly throughout the world. I will focus that chartiy on a woman’s group or co-operative somewhere in Central or South America. May she rest in peace.

Marcia was the most powerful earthly angel I was blessed to know.
She made one’s heart, thoughts, words, actions change and moved mountains while on earth. Her steps will remain a loss for earth as a whole.
As an esteemed heavenly angel, I know she will give special care to her family and friends.
Thank you for being such a loving and gracious family for Marcia.

Condolences and prayers to Marcia’s family. Marcia and I went to St. Mary’s Academy many years ago and I have many happy and sad memories of her there. I guess the sad one was when her Mom died and we attended her funeral. The happy ones are many. She hasn’t changed a bit in her picture- happy and smiling!

Sincere condolences and sympathy for Marcia’s family. What a beautiful human being, in every respect! Marcia had a heart of gold and a quiet compassionate manner about her, that was my personal experience. I know how much she will be missed by her friends everywhere. I’m sure her Father appreciates having her companionship now. Rest in Peace, Marcia.
