1939 – 2023
The Boulanger family is sad to announce the death of their dear brother, Maurice Donat Boulanger, on Nov. 15, 2023, at the age of 84. He passed away in the Lac Du Bonnet Care Home after many years there.
He was born on March 29, 1939, at home on the farm in Landreville, a community near Lac Du Bonnet. His parents were Francois (Frank) and Alida Boulanger, who moved to the Riverland community in 1947. Maurice lived in the local area his whole life. He bought a farm and built a two-story log home on Boggy Creek. He worked as a millwright in Northern Manitoba as well as the local area and the surrounding area. He retired and sold his farm in 2014.
Maurice Boulanger was pre-deceased by his wife, Cheryl Linklater, in 2021, who he married on Sept. 2nd, 1995, on Boggy Creek, next to his log house. They had no children. He is survived by three stepchildren: Candace Pommer, Lana and Christopher Romano.
He is also survived by 7 siblings: Helene Soderholm Lunder, 93, currently in a care home in Fridley, Minnesota; Louise DeNeve, 89, in Calgary, AB; Henri Boulanger (wife Donna), 88, in Lac Du Bonnet, MB; Noel Boulanger, 81, in Waterhen, MB; Marita Bugado (husband John), 80, in San Diego, CA, Edmond Boulanger, 77, in Winnipeg, MB and Silvio Boulanger, 75, in Winnipeg, MB.
He will be interred next spring in the Boulanger plot in the Lac Du Bonnet Municipal Cemetery.
