It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Albert Bangert on June 8, 2023. He leaves to mourn his much-loved wife of 58 years Diana (Lachowski) and his sons Carl (Lea-Anne), Brian (Laurie), Mark (Dawn) and Dean (Cathy). He is lovingly remembered by his many grandchildren, great granddaughter, sister-in-law Elaine Smith (Walter), nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Albert and Pauline, sister and brother-in-law Elwine and Hans Gaiser, granddaughter Hannah, brothers-in-law Allan and Garnet, sister-in-law Adele and his father and mother in-law Albert and Marguerite Lachowski.
Albert was born on April 18, 1932, in Alpirsbach Germany. His passion to pursue farming brought him to Canada. He worked on several farms and then with the Beausejour Hatchery. Visiting farm to farm with the mobile feedmill, he met Diana. They married in 1964 and settled down at the current homestead in Sebright. The farm operation grew steadily, along with their family. The desire to try growing corn, turned into a seed dealership with Pioneer Hi-Bred. Albert was an active and innovative member of the farming community. He continued to live on the farm and work with his sons, even driving the grain cart at 89 years young, until declining health forced changes. Family gatherings, vacations and car rides always pivoted around the farm, as it was never far from his mind.
A funeral service will be held June 17, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Beausejour.
If friends so desire, donations can be made to Cancer Care Manitoba or Muscular Dystrophy Canada.
