It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Herb, on Sunday, April 23, at the age of 92.
He was born in Thalberg, MB., and lived his whole life on the farm until six months ago, and due to failing health, he resided in Selkirk, MB.
He was preceded by his wife Jean, his parents Mary & August Steinke, and 7 siblings.
He is survived by his brother Randolph Steinke and sister Janet Horne.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Thalberg, MB. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

We are so sorry to hear of HERB’S PASSING. I will always remember the first time I meet him at the Gateway restaurant where I worked. He came in for coffee this one day and I guess we were busy but as I served Herb I said oh shit. From that time on every time we would see each other around town it was our little joke that we would say ‘HOW’S SHIT TODAY AND LAUGH.’ Sorry we didn’t get a chance to have that coffee. REST IN PEACE HERB (shit).
