Verna participated in many volunteer activities and on boards of directors throughout retirement, namely the Whiteshell Cottagers’ Association, Catholic Women’s League, and the Whiteshell Chapel.
Verna was all about family. She was a great cook and loved entertaining and turned that passion into perogy-making and catering funeral luncheons at St. Alphonsus Church. Verna and Walter travelled the world extensively.

Two memories come to mind, as I remember your Mom.
First, the many conversations around the kitchen table on Kirkwall, when your Mom never failed to join in with us…as recently as just before the sale of the house.
Secondly, your Mom making you call around after a ‘party at Al’s’ to find out who took the back seat from her VW.
I am smiling as I write this, remembering the special person who was your Mom ❤️
Much love to all of you at the sad time
Diane

Dear Walter,Allyson, Mark and Family, We are most saddened on the passing of your dear mother and gran. My fondest memories of Verna was at the cottage in Otter Falls. She was always so welcoming and hospitality! She loved our children and was so excited when they would sing Ukrainian songs and entertain your parents.
Verna also made my favourite carrot cake with the best creamy icing. She was most happy when l visited them just on a whim and wanted to know the latest news on everyone. Rest In Peace Verna and we will see you on the other side

Dear Walter, Allyson, Mark, and families,
We are so sorry to hear of Auntie Verna’s passing. She was a great lady and will be missed. My favourite Verna memory is from when we were kids and everyone was in her kitchen visiting, while she threw together breakfast for ten or twelve like it was nothing. The last touch, the thing that I will never forget, was Verna buzzing up the OJ in the blender so it would be fresh and frothy for the kids. It may seem like a small touch, but darn it was good.
We send our love,
Wade Kotelo and Andrea Kines

Dearest Mr Domanski, Ally, Mark and family,
Just found out from my dad (Guy Lemire) that your mom passed away. Your mom knew how to make people feel special and loved. Always positive and with a sense of humour. I fondly remember your parents visits to our home and our camping trips together. May your memories of her bring a smile to your face. May you experience God’s comfort and peace at this time.
