May 25, 1976 ~ August 2, 2021
It is with deep and profound sadness we announce the passing of Lorne, son of Mel and Grace Darroch of Beausejour. Lorne passed away very peacefully at home with his parents at his side and his sister and family on Zoom Monday afternoon, August 2, 2021.
Left to grieve Lorne’s passing are his parents, Mel and Grace (Drewlo), his sister Lee-Ann, brother-in-law Fabio dos Santos, his two beautiful, loving nieces Amelia and Gianna, his Aunty Lorraine Drewlo, cousins Darren (Vikki), Lorry (Rod), and Aunty Margaret Drewlo.
He was predeceased by some very special people in his life, Ed and Gladys Darroch (Melita Mb.), Len and Helen Drewlo and his uncles Don and Bob Drewlo.
Lorne was born May 25, 1976 in Beausejour, where he spent his entire life. His best times were spent hanging out with his Gramma and Grandpa Drewlo who lived next door and going out for Lee’s Chinese food with his Uncle Don and Aunty Margaret.
Lorne really got a spark in his life with the arrival of his precious nieces Amelia (12) who captured his heart immediately and Gianna (9) who always could make him smile and laugh.
Lorne was a very caring person, who made us smile often as he taught us what was really important in life. He was a very avid music lover, going to numerous music concerts in Winnipeg, Branson, MO and Minot, ND. A huge sports fan and lover of Free Cell and numerous other computer games.
Lorne made many friends over the years at Association for Community Living where he attended 4 days a week.
A Memorial Service will take place at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue East, Beausejour, at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 11. The family welcomes you to join them inside the chapel, which is limited to 225 patrons, or in the parking lot of Sobering Funeral Chapel and tuning your radio to 98.1 FM. Mel and Grace and family – I’m so very sorry to hear the news of Lorne’s death. He sure did love coming to Sherwood Park Lutheran Church for our contemporary Young Earth Mass Sundays – it was always so great to see you all! May God bless you and keep you in God’s grace as you mourn the loss of your precious son. Lorne is dancing in heaven together with Jesus! Through Jesus’ death and resurrection we have been given the gift of eternal life. May this knowledge grant you a small measure of peace during this time of unbearable grief and sadness. One day you will be reunited with Lorne – and what a glorious day that will be! Prayers are ascending for you all.

Dear Grace Mel and Leanne and family;
I remember meeting Lorne and Leanne through Zion and I remember meeting Lorne through transitional planning when he was graduating. Lorne had many great skills but I will always think of him is how very very kind and thoughtful he was. He was so proud of being an uncle and loved the kids so much as he did his whole family. I feel honored to have known and been apart of his life. I learned quickly to listen and not try to finish his his his thoughts. God Bless your family. Love from Linda
Mark
Condolences, rest easy my kind hearted friend.
