1932 – 2021
It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved husband, father, and grandfather who passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021 at the age of 88 years.
He left behind his loving wife of 65 years, Dolores, daughter Janice Smyrski, son Ron and Donna Knopf, grandchildren: Jenna and Lyle Otto, Travis and wife Brittany Knopf, brothers: Edmond Knopf, and Albert and Sandra Knopf.
He was predeceased by his granddaughter Sherri-Lynn Smyrski December 12, 2020.
Ewald and Dolores met in Whitemouth, and it was love at first sight. They then spent the rest of their lives in Beausejour, raising two amazing children. Ewald worked at Abitibi Price for 26 years, and was the cornerstone of his family. He never let them down, there will always be cherished memories of family gatherings and long visits from great friends that will live on in all his loved ones’ hearts, including many nieces, nephews and friends.
Cremation has taken place, and no formal service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Beausejour Hospital.
Many thanks to the staff at Health Science Centre for the care and compassion they showed towards our father.

We are saddened to hear of Uncle Ewald’s passing. We recall many good times when Mom and Dad (Arthur and Violet Knopf) took us for a Sunday visit. Lots to eat, pickles!! and many homemade buns.
Rest in Peace Uncle Ewald.
