I came into this world on October 10, 1961 in Emerson, MB. I left this world on March 19, 2020 to join the others who have predeceased me; my son Kurtis Kouk, my mom and dad, Gordon and Velma Pott, my brother Keith Pott and my brother in-law Randy Kouk. I will not be alone and will now be singing and dancing with them.
Wow, what a great life I have lived. It started out growing up on a farm in the small town of Ridgeville with my mom and dad, my brother Murray (Jackie) and my sister Karen (Dave). I loved growing up in the country and living in a small community spending time with my family and friends. I enjoyed baseball, curling and lots of fun times with my friends.
I moved to the “big city”, Winnipeg, in 1979 upon graduation from Roseau Valley Collegiate in Dominion City, MB. I enjoyed many careers during my lifetime with the most prominent being my time serving the community of Transcona while working at Casera Credit Union for over 20 years.
I met the love of my life, Ken on April 3, 1980. We were married 2 years to the day on April 3, 1982 and have had an amazing fun life together. I love you with all my heart and always will. We were blessed with our son Kyle in October, 1984 and have loved watching him grow up through the years; seeing him become a husband to Kendall (Steinke) and then an awesome father to Gavin, Maddox and Nickson.
On February 24, 1989 we welcomed into this world our second son Kurtis, who then soon left us on March 29, 1989 and became our own “special little angel”. We were then blessed with our beautiful daughter Kelsey in June, 1990 and our family was now complete. We loved watching our daughter grow into the beautiful woman she is today, becoming the wife to Edward Anderson and the amazing mother of Bentley.
Becoming a grandmother, “meme” to 4 beautiful grandsons has been the best thing in my life. No words can describe the sheer joy they brought to my life every day.
I was originally diagnosed with breast cancer in June, 2004. I chose at that point in my life to not let my life be defined by this horrible disease. So, with the loving support of my husband, family and so many friends, we chose to live life to the fullest every day. We enjoyed our time raising our family in Transcona and have loved our retirement years at our cottage in Lac du Bonnet.
I was blessed with so many wonderful friends, too many to mention, but you know who you are and how much I love you. I loved the laughs and tears we shared; loved watching our kids grow up together; loved laughing at work together; loved travelling; enjoying happy hours; late night dance parties and the so many awesome times and memories we made at the lake, “my happy place”. I leave this world in peace, knowing my family will cherish the wonderful memories we have made and they will continue to make many more. Saying thank you is simply not enough to be able to express how much I’ve appreciated all the wonderful people I’ve encountered along life’s journey.
You are welcome to join my family to celebrate my life on Wednesday, August 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue E., Beausejour.
If you so desire, in lieu of flowers, you may donate to a charity of your choice or to METAvivor, 1783 Forest Drive #184, Annapolis, MD 21401. Thank you in advance for your kindness. Cheers!

I grew up with Eve or Evelyn as I knew her. She was one of the few friends I got to have sleepovers with, have to my birthday growing up etc. Lost touch over the years, but was so happy to reacquaint and meet all of you. She had a strong and powerful spirit and a fierce love of you all. My heart to your heart at this time. She will reman in my heart!❤️

I’m so sorry for your loss. As one of the Pott Family’s neighbours, I babysat Evelyn and Murray when they were very young so that their parents could enjoy the occasional evening out. (Karen was yet a glimmer in her Dad’s eyes) Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time.

Our deepest sympathy to you, she was the bravest person I knew.
Evelyn, was a dear friend all through our school years from Ridgeville. We spent many evenings yacking while our parents would visit and enjoy their love of music together. Once we finished school, we moved to Winnipeg, shared our first apartment together and enjoyed the many adventures of 2 country girls moving to the big city! Our lives took on different directions, but that bond was always there. This past summer we spent a wonderful day with Evelyn and Ken at her Happy Place on the river. It was as if we had never been apart. We had a wonderful time, made memories that I will always treasure. She gave us all inspiration to live life to the fullest. Her parting words were so beautiful, written like the true 4-H girl she was.
Delores
