1967~ 2019
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Dena, devoted mother, partner, daughter, sister and friend to all whose lives she touched. She slipped away quietly on May 26, 2019.
She is survived by her daughters, Zoe and Tia Dupont, Little Joe whom she loved as her own, mother Lorraine Palmer, her brother Dax (Trish) and sister Alana, nieces Tori and Jordan and nephews Ethan, Zachary, her aunt, Clara (Richard) and by her cousins, Jerod, Aaron, Kimberly and Carol all of whom loved her and will miss her dearly. She was predeceased by her father Larry Henderson and step-father Barry Palmer, and grandparents Leonard and Christine Liberty.
Dena started life in Winnipeg but soon moved to Beausejour, Manitoba. Here Dena met many lifelong friends while attending school. Dena and her friends shared many epic camping adventures. Dena moved to Winnipeg in her twenties and strived at various jobs. Dena then moved to Sagkeeng to pursue her education.
Dena met Norman and had two beautiful daughters. Dena loved the outdoors, fishing, four wheeler adventures, gardening, taking long drives and spending time with her girls. Dena was an accomplished scholar who loved learning, she attended the University of Manitoba and graduated with an Advanced Aboriginal Governance & Business Management Degree.
Dena finally settled in Powerview, buying and renovating her house, an accomplishment she was proud of.
Dena was very loving, caring and outgoing. She loved to laugh and enjoy life. Everyone would know when she was around as her one of a kind laugh filled the room. We will miss you Dena.
In lieu of flowers, should friends desire, a donation may be made to the Trust Fund set up for Dena’s children at any RBC location.

A friend of mine and I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Dena in Pine Falls some years back on a trip up from the U.S. It comes with great sadness of just recently learning of Dena’s passing. Dena sure had radiance about her that one couldn’t help but to embrace and want to know her more. This led to a number of subsequent trips to Dena and Norman’s in the coming months and years at their house out in the country. Dena’s girls were just barely babies at the time. It doesn’t seem so long ago. It’s with a heavy heart that I send my thoughts, prayers, and condolences.
Much Love and fond memories.
Sincerely………Mike.
