Violet Beatrice Friesen (Smith) died at Pinawa Hospital after a quick bout with cancer on Wednesday, July 12, 2017. Born in Canning, NS on the 15 Nov 1924, the family later moved to Estevan, SK where she met her first husband, Dennis Manuell and emigrated to England. In 1957, they returned to Canada to live in Hanover, ON and later in the Windsor, ON area.
