It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our wife, mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend, Helen Yakobina, on Monday, June 6, 2022 at Beausejour Hospital at the age of 73.
She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her husband Ricky of 33 years, her children Andrew (Sandy) and Kathy (Keith), her grandchildren Dominic and Ashley, her step-grandchildren Alex, Vince and Tiana, her brothers Dave, Raymond and Bill, sisters Marion, Jean and Joyce as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her in-laws Michael (Judy) and Shawn (Zack). She was predeceased by parents Carrie and John Oneschuk, brother Eddie, brothers in-law Pete and George and sister in-law Doris.
Helen loved going for coffee to Chicken Delight and her early morning walks around town. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family and the dogs, Eddie and Flash. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, nurses’ aides and all the staff at Beausejour Hospital for all the care and compassion shown to Helen and our family.
Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, June 13 at 10:00 a.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue E., Beausejour. The service will terminate at the chapel with cremation to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen’s memory may be made to Parkinson’s Society Manitoba, Ste 7 – 414 Westmount Drive, Winnipeg, MB R2J 1P2.
